The Carlsmith Beach Park has beautiful shallow waters where you can catch sight of sea turtles swimming. Enter the waters in the area with easy stone stairs and arm rails. The Richardson Ocean Park is a well-known spot for snorkeling. The area has different levels of water to swim in, so it’s a great location to bring kids or adults. The black sand beach provides lovely soft tides to enjoy the waters. Plus, there are grassy fields and palm trees to relax and pitch a hammock. This spot is an easy visit from Rainbow Car Rental’s office in Hilo.

Coconut Island is a very fun secluded area. It’s the perfect place to stop and hang out when you’re in Hilo. Take a quick jump off of one of the two diving platforms into the water. Enjoy the grassy fields. And don’t forget to stroll the Lili’uokalani Japanese Gardens when you’re there! This area has easy parking for your best rental car from Rainbow Car Rentals.
